The AlloMap^® Testing Process

 

AlloMap is an innovative test that uses a blood sample to help doctors manage the care of stable heart transplant recipients.  When used together with standard clinical assessment, AlloMap can help inform your doctor whether you are at low probability of rejecting your heart at the time your blood was drawn.

 

AlloMap was cleared by the FDA in 2008.   AlloMap has been commercially available since 2005.

 

XDx works with individual transplant clinics to make AlloMap testing available to their patients. When AlloMap testing is available at your transplant clinic, your physician can decide whether to order AlloMap testing for you.

 

• Step 1. Your blood is drawn for AlloMap testing.
• Step 2. The blood sample is prepared and sent via overnight courier to the XDx Reference Laboratory in Brisbane, California.
• Step 3. In most cases, your blood sample is shipped to the XDx Reference Laboratory on the same day as your visit and the sample arrives at XDx the next morning.
• Step 4. When your blood sample arrives at XDx, the laboratory performs all testing necessary to generate an AlloMap test result – a process that typically takes one full day.
• Step 5. Once the AlloMap test result is generated and verified, it is faxed to your doctor. Results are usually available to your doctor in 1 to 2 days from the time your blood sample arrives at XDx .
• Step 6. Your doctor interprets the AlloMap test result in conjunction with other clinical assessments.
• Step 7. Your doctor notifies you with the results and planned course of action.
